Seafood Paella on a Cloudy Day

Hia!
I've been doing a lot of swapping and switching on this blog so I hope you all like it now, I know it might be a bit too sweetly and pink for some people but I like it a lot and I think I'll keep it like that for a while. I'm going to try to lear how to make a pretty header so if anyone knows how to do that I'de really appreciate you giving me a link to your blog or a website that you learnt it on. (sorry for the awful grammar, its a Saturday morning)
So last weekend I was at Blackrock Castle CafĂ© and the food was absolutely delicious so I decided to take a few photos and here they are.

This had mussels, prawns, cherry tomatoes and asparagus.

I went for a walk after the meal and decided to take a few photos, it was really cloudy and the colours looked really interesting to me. (I thought they would be really grey and brown but apparently not)

This photo has a slightly pinkish tint that I found very interesting.

The colours in this are really vivid and bright, I'm sorry about the image quality.

All About That Bass? How about NO!

Hey guys!
Today I'm gonna do something slightly different to usual. And before I start I want to just say that I don't mean to offend anyone, this is just my opinion and my advice based on my experience.
So let's not pretend that we have never looked in the mirror and wished for a few more/less pounds. And just about every one of us had that awful dressing room incident where the dress just would not come off or those jeans would not stay up no matter what.
Now since I am quite slim (although I try to hide it with big wooly jumpers) I will be talking about being 'skinny'. I'm not saying it's harder to be 'skinny' than overweight because we all know that's not true but I just want to talk about this a bit as I find that although there is a lot of stuff like this for the other side of this whole figure thing, not many people write about the 'skinny' side of the figure thing.

Struggles of a 'Skinny' Girl.
  • Pants being too loose and falling down all the time
  • People asking if you are anorexic
  • Everone calling you skinny (which is mean by the way)
  • When your ribcage juts out and your knees are knobbledy.
How to compliment a 'Skinny' Girl.
  • Never say skinny, EVER!
  • Say slim instead, it sounds nicer
  • Compliment her clothes, she is just as self-conscious as you and needs compliments to boost her confidence
  • Tell her the good things about her figure, for example "I wish I had your waist"
  • Never ask if they are anorexic
And those are basically all my tips from my experience. Basically just be nice and if you want a better explanation from both sides, hop on over to youtube and watch "Chummy Chatter: Why are You so Skinny?". Remember if you do think you have an eating disorder please tell your parents or any other responsible adults you know. If you're bullied because of your weight, tell someone, it helps!
Lots of Love, Kate

P.S. Can we start a petition to ban 'All about that Bass? ' I feel like there are songs with much better messages that aren't 'boys like a little more booty'  I mean...honestly!?!?

January Sale Shopping

Hey guys! So I was sale-shopping with my mum yesterday and I thought I'de show you all how it went! I'm not sure about you but I think that when you shop during a sale you still shouldn't buy something just because it's cheaper, only get whatever this item is if you would still buy it even if it was full price, does anyone else have rules that they have to strictly apply to themselves? Or is it just my mum and me.
Anyways let's get on to the exciting piece, the photos!

After wandering around the shops for a while mum and I went to Starbucks, Delish!

We headed home after some well deserved hot chocolate.
Today I'm showing off one of my sale buys from Zara, I think you will all agree that it is the best blouse in the history of amazing blouses.

Cya all later everyone, I hope you all like this post lots, -Kate

More Snow and a Storm

I took these this morning before the snow was *horrified gasp* washed away by the *disgusted face* rain. Eww!  Anyways, the snow was super while it lasted, it made boring old grey and black paths into *squeal* crystal white carpets of crunchy snow!
We spent 40mins learning about paragraphs! Like...why?? You have an opening sentence, supporting sentences and a concluding sentence, (not that I ever follow that) it's like spending 40 minutes on how B comes after A in the alphabet. We also have to write a book review and... I think we all know what book I chose ( I mentioned the book in a Christmas Present blog post a while back)
Sorry for going off topic there, it's super stormy right now, level red weather warnings all around Ireland! I am sitting about a meter away from my fireplace and I can hear the wind howling down it, I can also see the trees in the back garden flying back and forth (well not flying, it's not that bad) but I'de say if I left our dog Harley out, he would fly up into the air. I hope the power doesn't go out but I sort of want it to so that I can light my candles.
Remember, if it's as bad where you live as it is here, be really careful if you are going out, and if you get caught in the rain like I did earlier, have a hot shower and get changed into dry close ASAP!! Stay safe out in the snow.

Lots and lots of love,
Kate xxx

Snow Day!!!

Hia!! I know I haven't posted in a while but something SUPER exciting happened, it was SNOWING!! I wasn't able to post a photo earlier as I was at school but a few minutes ago I decided to stick my camera out the window, using my hand as a mini umbrella to take this little photo.
If its snowing tomorrow morning I promise that I'll take a photo and post it here but for now I have this, I might even print it out to stick on my wardrobe to remind me of the Day it Snowed! Wouldn't that be so cute and super tumblr and like AGH!
Today at school it started snowing during maths class and our whole class just dived towards the window, as if we had never seen snow before, our teacher probably thought we were secretly five year olds! Then the whole school charged down the stairs at break singing Let it Go and tugging on coats and jackets. I think no matter what age you are, the sight of snowflakes swirling through the air just makes you SQUEEEEEEEE!
Is it snowing where any of you guys are? I know that in some areas in England have almost snow blizzards!

Lots of love and snowflakes,
-Kate

P.S. I only just realised now that it says LET IS SNOW instead of LET IT SNOW, sorry about that, I deleted the original photo though so yeah... sorry

Keeping on top of: Excersise

This week I am going to do an exercise post, so I know that whenever I have a resolution-thingy to do exercise it lasts for about a week or, if I'm lucky, a month. I think that there are a few ways to keep something going though, so I'm going to give you some tips!

When you go on Pinterest and click 'Exercise', all of the pins are really long, hard exercises. I will almost always collapse after the thirty fourth burpee! So...I think its important to start small and get bigger lets say...

Day 1

  • 1 minute of arm swinging
  • jog on the spot for 2 minutes
  • 10 burpees
  • 5 knees-on-the-ground push-ups
  • 10 seconds lying on the ground with your legs an inch above the floor X2

Day 2

  • 1 minute of arm swinging
  • jog on the spot for 3 minutes
  • 10 burpees
  • 10 knees-on-the-ground push-ups
  • 10 seconds lying on the ground with your legs and inch above the floor X2

Day 3

  • 1 minute of arm swinging
  • jog on the spot for 5 minutes
  • 15 burpees
  • 10 knees-on-the-ground push-ups
  • 5 knees-on-the-ground push-ups with your left hand behind your back
  • 5 knees-on-the-ground push-ups with your right hand behind your back
  • 5 seconds lying on the ground with your legs an inch above the floor X5

Day 4

  • 1 minute of arm-swinging
  • jog on the spot for 5 minutes
  • 1 minute of burpees
  • 5 knees-on-the-ground push-ups with your left hand behind your back
  • 5 knees-on-the-ground push-ups with your right hand behind your back
  • 10 seconds lying on the ground with your legs an inch above the floor
  • 9 seconds lying on the ground with your legs an inch above the floor
  • 8 seconds lying on the ground with your legs an inch above the floor
  • 7 seconds lying on the ground with your legs an inch above the floor
  • 6 seconds lying on the ground with your legs an inch above the floor
  • 5 seconds lying on the ground with your legs an inch above the floor
Then just go on from Day 4 doing that everyday or adding your own things, its not that hard but it will help you strengthen your arms and legs a bit which I find helpful as I have to carry my wheely bag, violin, violin books and art pack up and down the stairs at school every Wednesday.

Have a nice day,
Kate xx

Keeping on top of: School

Hey guys! I'm going to start a series of blog posts with the theme of 'keeping on top of things' for you all, I plan on covering things like excersise, resolutions, being tidy (one that I always have lots of trouble with!) and anything else I can think up of.
Let's start with something easy: not  forgetting to do stuff, I find it helpful to keep sticky notes and a homework journal on my desk all day so that I can write down my homework as I go. Make sure to have the phone number of a few people in your class so that you can text them if you happen to have forgotten a book.
Next you need to make sure that your locker is tidy, maybe sellotape a time table up on the inside of the door. Try to keep your bag clean too (I'm rubbish at that).

Thats all I can think of right now (i have to go to bed for school tomorow, agh) but I hope I helped some bit!

Editing Photos

Hia guys! Today I'm doing a post about photo editing. As you may or may not be able to guess, the photo on the left is completely un-edited. The photo in the middle is slightly edited and the photo on the right is very edited. I know that I could have added more transitoon with blurring in the very edited photo but I wanted to ask some of you how edited you like your photos and how you edit them as I think that different people's techniques are very interesting, I know that lots of bloggers like sharp, bright photos with bright whites and dark blacks and others prefer a pastel type of photo whigh is bright and usually less sharp with gentle colours. What is your technique, do you stick with a theme?
Do you try lots of different things like bright things on black backgrounds or magical vintage style photos, what is your technique?
